Being a navy brat, I still can't get away from the pacific ocean. Living the good life in La Jolla with a wife of 27 years and two cats. I enjoy reading what fellow classmates are doing. It better be a good time at the reunion. I can get a lot of wine at Trader Joes for $68 bucks. Send John a MessageSend John a Message

I moved back to Coronado in 1998, after 25+ years in Orange County---  now I wonder why I stayed away for so long!

It's been such fun to be on the committee, and
see so many classmates make contact!  I know we'll have a great Reunion and hope that everyone tries to make it!

Hi everyone,
I'm avoiding doing homework, so a quick message
The closer it gets, the more messages I see here on the website, the more I'm looking forward to getting reaquainted with all of you who will be in attendance.  It's fun to see the updated photos, (I'm still learning how to do that move ).  I'm happy to see I am not the only gray haired member of our class.  I think it was child 4 (the boy) that did it.  I'm sadly surprised that so many of us cannot be located.  Not too hard to understand, though, in the mobile world in which we find ourselves.  I've been living in Ventura County since returning from Belgium in the 70's.  Camarillo is very much like Coronado - good for families, though the teenagers think it's a drag. Great weather and close enough to anything bigger that we may need.  Looking forward to the fun in Coronado in July.  Be safe until then.    Susan

Ok, so now I have to respond in some fashion-after my old pal Rick" Ricky Mouse" K. has checked in. Probably can't make the shindig-7/4 is a big weekend here in Santa Cruz County. I've been here since 1970, surfing then, playing tennis now. The area has grown big time since the days of Lompico, Lake Ave., etc. "Lights" will recall. well., maybe. On my second marriage, with a wonderful eleven year old boy, the light of my life. My wife's parents somehow ended up in the Cays in the 70's, but I met her in S.C. almost thirty years ago. We come to the rock yearly, and will be down later in July. Nice to read all the news and see the pictures, too. Continued good luck to all, the fraternity of the rock. Also-.Kirk S. can be found at the Coronado Tennis Center quite frequently Send Fred a MessageSend Fred a Message

Hello,
I too cannot believe that it has been 40 years!  My husband Bob retired as the Atlantic Fleet Commander and we ended up in Florida, UGH!  Our 3 daughters all will live in San Diego after our 3rd graduates this May from the Naval Academy.  We have a Navy helicopter pilot, and a Navy Nurse, and now a Surface officer. I am in San Diego and Coronado about 3 times a year.  I so look forward to seeing everyone in July.

June 09, 1950 engineer, writer, musician, ski patroller Married 3
Hi Gwyn: Nice to hear from you. I won't be able to come to this reunion, as much as I'd like to. I am booked already for that weekend. My band has a local festival gig on the fourth, and we've been invited to play Oregon's largest outdoor music festival, the Portland Waterfront Blues Festival, on the fifth. So we're going to be pretty busy. I went to an all-class reunion about ten years ago and had a ball. There was almost nobody there from '68 though, and I'd dearly love to see you all again. You can tell folks that I send my best regards to all. I am healthy and happy living in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. I've been here 32 years, and I'm firmly planted. I live in Corvallis, a university town less than an hour from the coast, and two hours from the crest of the Cascade Mountains. I have been doing volunteer ski patrol work for 20 years, and only stopped playing music long enough to get my kids started with school. I have two very handsome sons and a beautiful stepdaughter (of course, those are objective statements), all three of whom live in the mountains now, having grown up skiing and climbing. I am an engineer and a writer, and my wife is an accountant. In my spare time, when I have any, I like to build and repair stringed instruments, particularly antique banjos. I enjoy moutain-based gravity sports. My next big adventure is to climb Denali (Mt. McKinley) in May of '09. There are a few more of us who now live in the Northwest. But I'll leave it to them to report in on their own. Take care. And again, please give my regards to any classmates that you encounter. Fondly: Steve Oder

PS, days later: I am working remotely right now, and had to go to the web to get a photo. But yes, that's me, havin' a ball skiing in Canada, three days from the nearest road. I can't get to an old photo since I'm not at home. Feel free to use the one from the yearbook, even though that looks like someone I don't recognize anymore. Who was that guy? Tell me some stories, folks. And have a beer for me. On that day, I'll be having a good time, but I'll also be thinking of all of you. Can anyonme tell me about Paul Free ('69)?

Love to all: Steve
