Hello everyone. 4o years have passed haven't they. Quickly passed. Soon we'll all be lined up at the front door of the Social Security office demanding at least ten cents on the dollars we sent them over the years. I'm back again in the old homestead where I esentially grew up; my wife Luan, (class of 75), and I purchased it in 1984. We have two grown kids, Andy, (class of 96), now 30, and Kathleen, (class of 2000), now 26. We are looking forward to meeting all of you "out of towners" that we don't see much of anymore. |

Hello everyone. Can't wait to reconnect. I can't believe it's been 40 years!! Here's a real quick bio: I've lived in Santa Barbara for 39 years. I've been with the same guy for 37.5 years. I've been a critical care nurse for near 30 years. I have no children, two dogs and a bird. I spend any extra cash on world travel when I can. |

Comment: Looking through the then/now photos and updates has been so much fun. Thanks for re-sending Janet, as I missed the first go round. I came to Texas in 1976 after some time in Tennessee. Still here, 47 years later! After all those years as a Navy Brat I wanted nothing more than to not move every 2-3 years - I guess I accomplished that! Grandkids, friends, dogs, travel, reading, gardening, creating, all keep us busy and makes for full days. Only occasionally do I feel all of my 73 years (what?!?!! Is anyone else 73, or is it just me??) We will be escaping the TX heat by spending a few weeks in the mountains at the time of the reunion but "ya'll have fun now, you hear?" |

Wow Robin-did you really have to mention AARP. I threw those magazines away for two years thinking they were addressed to my husband. I certainly dont FEEL like we've been out of high school 40 years. Guess now I can confess some things like all the runs to TJ and the Longbar, skinny dipping with Liz H. and Julie P. on the strand one Friday night after working on the base and getting caught, untying boats at the yacht club with Pamela Sue Rice (Pisser to me) just to watch them float away, not getting that old gym door relocked after we sneaked my dad's keys to jump on the trampoline and having to run home to get him, riding the ferry back and forth 30 times (for a dime) one Saturday till the captain finally let us "drive" it, changing the "7" to an "8" with spray paint on Cutler field the night before the class of 1967 graduated. Man--I was really stupid. These just touch on the naughty things pisser and I did. Everyone assumed I would never do anything bad because of my dad, whom by the way is alive and well, so it was a perfect setup. Thank you all so much for the hard work, I can't wait to see everyone. I'll probably bring Dad too! |

It is hard to believe it’s been 40 years. When I heard Gwyn O’Toole’s voice, “Karen, is that you? This is Gwyn Bent, I can’t believe I found you!” and then after hanging up, I didn’t know what do! So I went shopping…To try and recap 40 years….After 2 unsuccessful tries at marriage, and raising my two “Glorious” children, I am now happily married to my best friend of 20 years and living in Mill Valley(married in 2003). My son, Chris is 25 and works in sales management for Gallo Wines and my daughter, Hillary is 23 and works as a chemical dependency counselor. I kid them about stealing each other’s clients. Talk about a metaphor for 2 sides of the same coin. They are truly my pride and joy and certainly grounded me to what is important in life. While climbing mountains chasing my dreams( I was really only wanting to have a family) I have had quite an exciting 40 years living in California…from a career in the airlines as a fight attendant/manager…a management consultant for start-up airlines…a marketing executive in the food industry, to actually owning my own national food company…then an information technology creative consultant for Siemens. I even managed to spend a number of years owning and showing jumpers and even dabbled in the race horse industry (I also managed to influence my daughter’s love of horses). Now I am back pursuing my love of painting and simply enjoying my husband and family time. I am looking forward to seeing my old friends and laughing about the good times we had…most of which I have probably forgotten, although a few pop out…spiking the punch in journalism class with Steve Strane and Mike Petit, Long Bar trips, of course Curt Oliver had to remind me of the apache run at Mar Vista High the night before the big game…Tide in the pool, manure on the football field. I was truly there as a witness. But ohhhhhh….the next day, facing Mr. Oliver and the school! I will continue to think of all the good times between now and July 5th and most importantly look forward to sharing memories and laughter with old friends. |
