Comment:

Retired from Verizon after 31 years?of engineering and marketing in the Boston area.? So now I have time for all the building projects and home repairs that I neglected while working and raising 4 kids.? I also manage to squeeze in a little golf, maybe?once a week when the weather is good .

I'm really looking forward to the reunion, seeing my old buddies, teammates, and the "Dames" from the Classof '68!

Comment: WOW, 40 years, I don't know about you, but I feel like i have lived several lifetimes since those "formative" days at CHS.  I have been looking forward to connecting up with all of my former Classmates of 1968 for quite some time; I am sure that there is much we can share and gain from the upcoming weekend of July 4, 2008.

Comment: I enjoyed the 30th, so why not check in on the rock again.  Wow some of these faces, names, and entries bring back a lot of memories.
I remember trying to avoid getting my picture taken, so Janet, where was this picture from? Sophmore year...
After High School I traveled the country for a while; DC to Miami, Atlantic City to Vegas; hiked the Grand Canyon. Then like Bob L., took a left turn in Virginia and ended up  working for the State for 2 years.  I left the east coast behind and came back to Coronado in 72' only to find the state of California had a similar job for me.
So finally, at 24 I decided to get a job.  I went to work for an electrical contractor and within 4 years I owned the company.  Have since built 4 electrical business and sold the last one in 2001.
My wife Terri and I built a house in Ramona in 86' and have been there ever since;  I now own a manufacturing business in Ramona for national and international franchising.
We raised 3 sons, all now in their 20's.  Two have been through the military and my oldest is my VP.
You can't beat Coronado for the best place to have grown up in the 60', lets party...

I have lived in Idaho Falls, Idaho since February 1979.  I retired 12/31/11 as a Child Protection Clinician after 25 years with

Children & Family Services, DHW.

We live two hours from Yellowstone National Park and the scenery is gorgeous.  We camp, fish, boat, 4-wheel, travel abroad, scuba dive, and enjoy road trips.

I'll be attending our 45th reunion July 2013.  Hope to see you all then.

Comment:
John Keeler, Shelly Smith, and my good friend Linda G. Foster helped me become one of the Coronado Class of '68 Islanders.  I had moved in my Junior year as my class VP from Zama American HS in Japan.  It was quite a transition.

Clever, creative, enthusiastic, dedicated teachers made such a difference in my future passion to become a teacher.

I think back fondly on the Senior Hall and Court.  My favorite memories are of fabulous Islander Pep Rallies,  The CHS Spirit Team, Our Senior Thesbian Project..."South Pacific".   And, as I recall our CHS Woman were honored at a luncheon by the Kippy Family and Friends  I believe.

Graduation with my favorite Coach Dick Draz, Helen Draz, Mom and Dad in Juneof that wild year 1968 was a beautiful day out on the atheletic field.

In the fall  Simmi Baum and I left for Columbia, MO. to a marvelous Womans College - Stephens College.

Today....living  in Cary, NC  I  can still close my eyes and hear the joyful sights and sounds of those Coronado High Class of 1968 memories.

PS. Thanks Janet for being so caring and helpful!

Comment: work calls to keep me here but I'd rather be there. how about a 45th? I've loved hearing from some of you. Kinda takes me back to a simpler, more joyful time. For some of you (and you know who you are) know that I still hold you close and remember well... I have lived on 5 beautiful wooded acres on an island west of Seattle (along with Bob Yount!) for 36 years-yes, the military roamer has put down blissful roots. Sharing in the greatness is my husband of 7 years, my two sons who have returned home from LA and live next door in my other home plus airstream, two dogs, eagles, raccoons, 6 cars including a porsche speedster which is only used 2 months of the year due to the weather challenges here, my studio where i create and teach, and a grown-up sized dollhouse which serves as a place where i am supposed to relax on the dwarf size brass bed (which i have never done) and sports a yellow brick road and a wicked witch under the wall with ruby slippers. in a word, it is all magical. my job calls me to stay here, as a big event follows the next weekend, which inexplicably needs my guidance. i hope your party is a flaming success and i will be thinking of you and wishing you all the best! those really were the days, my friends....

It's been wonderful hearing from some of you-kinda takes me back to a simpler, more joyful time....which I do believe, was one of my finest hours. i so do wish i could be there but a huge event occurs here the next weekend which, inexplicably, needs my direction. for those of you (and you know who you are), i still carry close to my heart some very special moments and times. bob yount and i are living on the same island in the puget sound-go figure. but contrary to what you hear about it raining in the NW, it's just our tourist plot to keep Californians away from our end of paradise (next to Coronado!). anyway, i live on 5 beautiful wooded acres with husband of 7 years, two sons, two dogs, eagles, raccoons, studio which is my playground, porsche speedster and 5 other cars, and a grown-up dollhouse for me to relax in (never have) complete with yellow brick road and wicked witch under house with ruby slippers. it's all magical, in a word. i hope the party is a flaming success! wishing all of you the best!
